It's Time to Register for Musikfest
It's hard to believe, but Musikfest is less than 100 days away!
The 2012 edition of Musikfest is set for Aug. 3-12 and volunteer registration forms can be submitted beginning April 15. Prior to April 15, past volunteers who have a valid email address will be emailed registration forms and information on how to register online at www.musikfest.org/volunteer. Volunteers who do not have access to a computer or email can also call the ArtsQuest offices at 610-332-1300 or stop by the offices for a printed registration form.

Function Descriptions
ArtsQuest Member Assistance: Assist guests at member entrance gate to Sands Steel Stage.
ArtsQuest Member Lounges: Assist members at member lounges.
ArtsQuest Member Information: Provide information at ArtsQuest Member booth.
Base Communications: Manage radio communications from base radio trailer. Special training session required. A great way to see how Musikfest operates. No radio knowledge required, but knowledge of festival helpful.
Beer/Wine/Specialty Drink Staff: : Staff is rotated to serve in all aspects of the function: tap and serve beer, open bottles and serve wine, collect tickets, check ID of anyone ordering—a person must be 21 years of age to be served an alcoholic beverage in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Central Supply Team: Manage festival inventory with souvenirs, ice, disposables and other materials. Some lifting is required. Drivers will fill out special form and must have a valid driver's license.
Children's Art and Creativity Area: Volunteers assist children with activities.
Customer Service: Provide information, register guests and answer phones. Must be friendly, patient and enjoy working with people
Eco Squad: Keep the festival sites neat and clean and assist with recycling. Volunteers filling two evening shifts will get credit for 18 hours.
Green Team: Experience handling cash, counting receipts and preparing bank deposits.
Handwerkplatz Craftspeople Assistant: Assist craftspeople as requested and make sure site is neat and clean. Booth sit, if needed.
Hospitality Center: : Monitor the use of restrooms at the Luckenbach Mill.
Hospitality Areas (ArtsQuest Center, Dankeplatz & Sands Steel Stage): Serve as hosts in the reception area, serve beverages and clean up during hospitality events. Must be 21.
House Managers: Manage ushers at various sites.
Musikfest Café™ Greeters:
Retail Areas: Located at Main Street (cart), Festplatz, Americaplatz at Levitt, Handwerkplatz and Plaza Tropical (cart), gift shops, and Glass Works. Experience or willingness to learn retail sales, and credit card sales. Volunteers must attend a training session prior to festival start. Must be 16.
Non-alcoholic Beverage Servers: Serve soda, juice, tea and water.
Press Center: Volunteers host and escort the media. Public relations education and/or experience preferred.
Pre-fest Setup & Post-fest Takedown: Set up and take down the festival; some heavy lifting required. Volunteers with carpentry or construction experience, who can lift, move and sometimes carry heavy objects, are encouraged to join us. Supervisors lead and coordinate crews as they perform specific tasks. Setup begins two weeks prior to the festival and takedown lasts four days following the event.
Retail Areas: Assist with retail operations. Experience or willingness to learn retail and credit card sales. Volunteers must attend a training session prior to festival start. Must be 16.
Roving Daily Setup: General cleanup in preparation for opening the site. Duties include straightening and wiping tables and chairs, sweeping, raking, and replacing liners in trash barrels. Volunteers must be able to lift and perform strenuous tasks and be flexible and willing to move between different sites. Also includes area along the creek
Safety Team: Training is given to volunteers who patrol the festival grounds for hazards and fill out Incident Reports.
Shuttle Drivers: Shuttle volunteers to and from satellite parking area and all sites. Drivers will fill out special form and must have a valid driver's license.
Shuttlepltaz/Information Service: Direct and provide information including transportation to sites.
Stage Manager/Stagehand: Help with free stage performances and band set changes. Lifting required. New staging volunteers begin as stagehands and may be considered as stage managers as experience evolves.
Street Team Onsite Marketing: Outgoing individuals who are energetic and fun to promote events, sponsors and give-away prizes throughout the festival grounds. Must be able to be on your feet and walk long distances. Must be 16.
Supervisors and Asst. Supervisors: Provide leadership and supervision for all functions and sites. Musikfest experience required.
Teen Volunteer Supervisor: Monitor teen activity and serve as advocate for teens and supervisors at sites. A considerable amount of walking is involved. Knowledge of the festival and its functions is very helpful.
Tickets and Information Booths: Outgoing individuals assist patrons with ticket purchases and information about the festival. A thorough understanding of the festival a must, be comfortable with handling money and processing credit card orders. Must be 18.
Ushers: Take tickets and assist concert goers to their seats. Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours. Sands Steel Stage must be 21.
