Fiber Artist Mallory Zondag Shines as 2025 Musikfest Poster Artist Featured in Major Exhibits and Community Collaboration

Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA. June 12, 2025 – This summer, Mallory Zondag, acclaimed fiber artist and art educator, is in the spotlight as the official 2025 Musikfest poster artist, making a historic first as the festival’s first representative of fiber arts. Her work will be featured in two major exhibitions and a collaborative project with local students, underscoring a season rich with texture, creativity and community engagement during the nation’s largest non-gated music festival.

The Art of Musikfest: Musikfest Poster Artist Retrospective Exhibition (2019 – 2025) | May – August 31 | Payne Gallery at Moravian University

Panel Discussion featuring all of the Musikfest poster artists will take place on July 31 at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas.

ArtsQuest is partnering with Moravian University to present an exhibition of artwork featuring past Musikfest Poster Artists from 2019 – 2025. Participating exhibition artists include Jessica Bastidas (2019), Doug Boehm (2020), Mandy Martin (2021), Bart Cooper (2022), Maltas Con Leche (2023) and Mallory Zondag (2025).

Mallory Zondag: What Lies Between Us | May 23 – September 14 | ArtsQuest Center

A striking solo exhibition by fiber artist and educator Mallory Zondag, What Lies Between Us features immersive, tactile sculptures created between 2020 and 2025. The work investigates invisible threads of connection—between people, places and the living world. Using methods like felting, weaving and fiber sculpting, Zondag’s organic forms invite viewers to consider their place within an interconnected global ecosystem.

Zondag’s art has been shown at venues including the Whitney Museum, El Museo del Barrio and the International Biennial of Textile Art in Ukraine. She is also known for her community outreach through collaborative textile projects and arts education.

BASD Middle School PCA Residency: Fiber Art Collaboration

One of Mallory’s most recent projects includes a visiting artist residency with Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) middle schools. She’s now putting the final touches on the students’ collaborative artwork, which will be ready in time for Musikfest. The inclusion of this project as part of her broader work for the festival deepens the connection between her professional art and her dedication to arts education.

Though a date for the official unveiling of the collaborative artwork has yet to be announced, it’s clear that the piece—and the artist behind it—will be front and center throughout the season.

Musikfest Community Art Project

Zondag will lead fiber arts activities during Musikfest to create a community art project using similar techniques to those she used to create the Musikfest poster. Dates and details for these activities are to be announced.
