Kids’ Activities at the Luckenbach Mill

Aug. 2-11, Mon.-Thurs., 1-5 PM | Fri.-Sun., 12-6 PM
Explore the history of crafting at the Colonial Industrial Quarter. Children’s activities including making a pinch pot, weaving and tin punching highlight offerings from the Handmade in the 18th Century school program. Indulge your artistic spirit by contributing to the chalkboard mural or making musical instruments out of recycled materials.

At the Lehigh Art Alliance Juried Exhibition, you’ll enjoy a variety of original two- and three-dimensional works of art from regional artists – all available for purchase! Don’t miss live painting demos or sit for a 20-minute portrait session!

What’s it like to be a blacksmith? Find out at the 1750 Smithy by attending one of our live blacksmith demonstrations! Professional blacksmiths demonstrate how Moravians forged hooks, hinges and door handles. Donations suggested.

Be wowed by the 1762 Waterworks, a national historic landmark and the first pumped municipal water system in America! This impressive waterwheel helped pump spring water 92 vertical feet to a tower and gravity provided water to five locations. Donations suggested.

Mugshots: Oral Histories of Musikfest

Luckenbach Mill and throughout the festival grounds

Through photography and oral history recording, ‘Mugshots’ captures the impact of Musikfest, the festival that has transformed Bethlehem for 10 days each Aug. since 1984. Listen to the interviews recorded last year at the listening station and record your own history of Musikfest with a Mobile Mugshots interviewer! Even the pint-sized can share their stories with Mugshots coloring pages and polaroid instant photo wall. Recordings will be sent to the Library of Congress to be archived.
