John Hufford always felt a magnetic pull to the inexpressible aspects of music and while he never considered himself a songwrite. He became fluent in both acoustic and electronic instrumentation and production. Then in 2012 while he was recovering from Lyme disease, John began to write his first songs. The more John wrote, the more his passion for songwriting grew, crafting a strong indie folk aesthetic, tinged with an emotional immediacy that effortlessly communicated his uninhibited reflections with a vivid poetic quality. His music drew immediate comparisons to The Tallest Man on Earth and Elliot Smith and soon he went from playing open mics at local listening rooms, and coffee shops to live showcases in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and at Musikfest in Bethlehem. John released his first EP entitled, Person in 2014 and most recently released a second EP, Sleep in 2017. John strives to speak to the reality of our world, while offering a delicate hideaway from its clamorousness.
