Free Performances
More free music than ever before awaits Musikfest guests when the nation's largest free, non-gated music festival celebrates its 29th year.
Among the many performers who will play Musikfest for the first time this year is the Royal Southern Brotherhood, which counts Grammy Award winner Cyril Neville of The Neville Brothers, and Devon Allman of Devon Allman's Honeytribe, among its members. The group, which serves up its own, distinct blend of blues and rock, will headline the Americaplatz at Levitt Pavilion stage Aug 3 at 9:30pm.
Also taking the stage at Americaplatz will be Draw the Line, the only Aerosmith tribute endorsed by Aerosmith.
Other performers coming to Musikfest for the first time include M.A.K.U. SoundSystem, a Columbian group that mixes African and Colombian rhythms with rock, punk and jazz; Yellow Dubmarine, which dishes out reggae versions of Beatles' classics; and Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, a nine-piece soul and rock powerhouse that has opened for the Black Keys.
Check out some of these amazing performers! Check back often as we will continue to update the list for 2012!
