Kids’ Activities at the Luckenbach Mill

August 3-12, Monday-Thursday 1-5 PM | Friday-Sunday: 12-6 PM
Explore the history of crafting at the Colonial Industrial Quarter. Children’s activities including making a pinch pot, weaving and tin punching highlight offerings from the Handmade in the 18th Century school program. Don’t miss local artisans conducting demonstrations of early trades including weaving, dying and pottery.

Lehigh Art Alliance Exhibit

Luckenbach Mill

At the Lehigh Art Alliance Juried Exhibition, you’ll enjoy a variety of original two- and three-dimensional works of art from regional artists – all available for purchase! Don’t miss live painting demos and a special display of artists’ sketchbooks.

Blacksmith

What’s it like to be a blacksmith? Find out at the 1750 Smithy, where professional blacksmiths demonstrate how Moravians forged hooks, hinges and door handles. Donations suggested.

Waterworks

Monday-Thurs, 12-4 PM
Be wowed by the 1762 Waterworks, a national historic landmark and the first pumped municipal water system in America! This impressive waterwheel helped pump spring water 92 vertical feet to a tower and gravity provided water to five locations. Donations suggested.

Mugshots: Oral Histories of Musikfest

Luckenbach Mill

Through photography and oral history recording, ‘Mugshots’ captures the impact of Musikfest, the festival that has transformed Bethlehem for 10 days each August since 1984. Listen to the interviews recorded last year, and record your own history of Musikfest with a volunteer interviewer. Recordings will be sent to the Library of Congress to be archived!
