Do’s

Bring your Friends

Good things come in threes and so should you. Or four, or ten, or however many people you want, really. Musikfest is better enjoyed with a good group of friends, so make sure to bring all of your besties.

Have your Musikfest mug

There’s no better cup to hold your beverages at Musikfest than this year’s mug. Designed by Maltas Con Leche, an Allentown-based family of artists, the mug is vibrant and colorful, sure to go with all your summer ‘festin fits. Mugs are available for purchase at the ArtsQuest Center Box Office or at Palette & Pour, The Bethlehem Visitors Center presented by St. Luke’s University Health Network and throughout the festival at merchandise tents.

Carpool, Rideshare or Use the shuttle

Let’s face it. Parking at music festivals can sometimes be like trying to put your foot in a shoe that’s two sizes too small. It’s a tight squeeze. Try these alternatives instead:

Carpool. If you are driving, carpool with some friends! Save you and your friends the stress of parking by forming your own clown car.

Rideshare drop-off and pickup locations for the North Side are available at the cul-de-sac at Old York Road, Walnut Street Garage, and Sakon Plaza near City Hall. For the Southside, Second Street and Founders Way are dedicated drop-off and pickup locations.

Shuttle. If you insist on driving but don’t want to play parking mania in Downtown Bethlehem, consider taking the shuttle.

  • North Side: To be directly at the North Side of the festival, park at 1525 Valley Center Parkway. Drop off and pick-up are at Shuttleplatz North
  • SouthSide: To be directly at the SouthSide of the festival, park at 240 Emery Street. Drop off and pick-up are at Shuttleplatz South.
  • Hours:
    • Monday – Friday: 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
    • Saturday – Sunday: 11:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
  • Final shuttle departs at 11:40 p.m.
  • Pricing:
    • $9 per adult (13+)
    • $ 7 per child (ages 3 – 12 when accompanied by fare paying adult)
    • Free (2 and under; if they fit on an adult’s lap)
  • Ticket price includes same day access to North-South Transfer Service

Try the food

Leave that bagged lunch at home and try all the delicious food Musikfest has to offer. With over 20 vendors, there is something for everyone to eat! Some iconic vendors returning to ‘fest this year include favorites, Island Noodles, Aw Shucks, and Dinky’s Ice Cream. If you want some real in-depth reviews, check out MusikFeast, where our very own Director of Content Marketing & Engagement, Jon Lunger, takes to the streets to give you the inside scoop on all the treats available at Musikfest.

Download the Musikfest App Powered by PNC

There is truly an app for everything, including Musikfest. The Musikfest app is available on iOS and Android thanks to PNC. The app allows you to plan your day to a T. No, literally, it has a function that allows you to add performances to a schedule, so you can plan the perfect line up. An interactive map is featured within the platform to showcase of all food vendors, activities and shops. For a great ‘fest experience, consider adding the Musikfest app to your regular rotation of applications!

Don’ts

Bring Cash

Carrying cash isn’t as popular as it used to be, which is why Musikfest has gone (almost) cashless. Credit and debit cards are accepted everywhere across the festival. If you do happen to bring cash, you can convert it to a Musikfest CashCard. CashCard’s can be found from these locations at the festival: Wells Fargo Festplatz, Handwerkplatz, Plaza Tropical, Guardian Zinzenplatz, Provident Bank Main Street, IBEW Local 375 Liederplatz and PNC Stadtplatz.

Cash is accepted only on the SteelStacks Campus. For more information, check out this FAQ.

Wait to buy tickets

Tickets are selling left and right with so many great headliners at this year’s ‘fest. Don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets. Headliner tickets can be purchased here.

Bring Fido and Fluffy

Listen, we love those furry little beasts just as much as you do but leave your pets at home for Musikfest. August is a very hot month and with over a million attendees, it would be very easy for your pets to burn their paws and get lost in the crowd.

ONLY ADA compliant service dogs are allowed; emotional support pets do not qualify as trained service animal.

Ride anything with wheels

You’ve never known true fear until you’ve been passed from behind by a Onewheel going 40 mph. While we do encourage riding your bike TO Musikfest (we’ve got several bike racks located throughout the festival grounds), riding bikes, skateboards, roller blades and hoverboards are not permitted on Musikfest grounds. Strollers are permitted.

Bring your drone or selfie stick

Let’s leave all flying objects to the extraterrestrials, and all selfie sticks in 2016. The operation of any unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a.k.a “drones”, regardless of size, weight, or purpose, are prohibited on, from, or above ArtsQuest premises, events or venues without specific written permission from an ArtsQuest official. Selfie Sticks are strictly prohibited at all events, including concerts, festivals and family shows at all ArtsQuest operated venues to ensure the safety of our guests.
